Course Description

Florida’s network of workforce development professionals manages the Education and Training component of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP E&T. This course is designed to help those professionals manage the program effectively and help ABAWDs become self-sufficient. The course begins with a brief history of SNAP and the goals of SNAP E&T. It covers the complete case-cycle, including work component activities, documenting activities in OSST, and entering JPRs. We also discuss essential aspects of the sanction process, Food Stamp Reimbursement, and the Florida Job Connect system, known as myTESS. Lastly, we cover important rules of thumb and best practices that foster your region’s success.
